In 1992, Juergen was invited to Tokyo to do a show in the gallery at Parco, the department store that is so much more than a department store..
It was the beginning of his career, and he was collaborating closely with Venetia Scott. She is given special thanks on the loose-leaf colophon printed onto translucent paper in this very rare box of black and white cards, produced to accompany the exhibition.
There are 30 cards, each featuring a black and white image from the show. Stories with Venetia include Romania for i-D in 1991, Kurt Cobain in Berlin, Siouxsie Sioux in London.. Plus there are images shot for Comme's Six No. 8, and backstage Yohji..
A very beautiful, and truly rare, box of Juergen Teller black and white cards, made for Parco in Tokyo to coincide with an exhibition there of Juergen's work in the Spring of 1992. Juergen had been awarded the Canon Young Talent Prize in Barcelona in 1991, and the show in Japan was supported by them. It was produced by Parco (the department store that is so much more than a department store...) and coordinated by legendary agent Ziggi Golding and Barry Rock.
A set of 30 cards, each captioned on the back, of works included in the exhibition.. Images from a story shot in Romania for i-D with fashion by Venetia Scott (1990) the shoot for Comme's Six magazine No 8 (made in Paris in 1991), Kurt Cobain in Berlin in 1991and Siouxsie Sioux in London.
