The 'Me Generation' is alive and well and living on our beaches. As Rennie Ellis says, there's something quite primitive and tribal about the way we strip off to as near naked as is lawful and indulge in rituals that have roots in sun worship and baptism. At the beach, where everyone is exposed and there are no walls to ward off curious eyes, he has recorded many wonderful and amazing scenes -- some aglow with sensuality, others alight with good fellowship or family feeling, some tinged with bathos or verging into madness.
